Area Activity Guide: City Love

March 2017

It’s not unusual for us to sing the praises of the South Wedge Planning Committee around here. This neighborhood organization puts together the Wedge magazine, assists local business owners, improves housing, and conducts all sorts of initiatives to make the South Wedge the best neighborhood in Rochester. This weekend, there’s an event to the SWPC and another great community organization, the South East Area Coalition, two organizations which have been working together to revitalize Rochester’s neighborhoods.

A Celebration of Rochester

City Love is a benefit, but it’s also a celebration of our spectacular city. Community builders, artists, chefs, creators, purveyors, and craft beverage makers will be on hand to turn the Historic German House into a showcase of Rochester favorites. Live and silent auctions will feature items from Three Heads Brewing, Get Caked, Henna Rising, Stuarts Spices, Restaurant Good Luck, and More Fire Glass Studio — to name a few. Attendees who don’t win in the auctions or raffle will still get their fill of food and drink samples.

Danielle Ponder & The Tomorrow People

We figure it’s best to put that right out front so that no one glosses over City Love’s incredible entertainment. City Love is an abundance of Rochester goodness, plus a live show by Danielle Ponder & The Tomorrow People. You can expect an amazing night with one of the finest talents to emerge from our local music scene. Buying tickets is a no-brainer. That leaves just one lingering question — how is this event only three hours long?
