Abundance Food Co-Op South Wedge Grand Opening

April 2017

Guaranteed to be Grand!

Residents of the South Wedge, how excited are you to have the new, greatly expanded Abundance Food Co-Op opening up in the neighborhood? There are a million ways to celebrate and connect in Rochester this Earth Day, but this one takes (and probably makes, with vegan and gluten-free options) the cake!

On Saturday, April 22nd, which also happens to be Earth Day, the new Abundance Food Co-Op will finally be opening its doors at 571 South Avenue!

The Abundance Food Co-op Grand Opening Ribbon-cutting takes place at 11:00 am, on the dot, right after the Earth Day Parade.

Get to know Abundance better than ever before by meeting some of the co-op’s longtime local partner farmers and producers. You’ll also get to enjoy plenty of samples, bites, sips and tastes.

RocWorthy Earth Fest

Along with Impact Earth and SunCommon New York, Abundance will be co-hosting the ROCWorthy Earth Fest from 11 to 2 pm. It’s an opportunity to learn from different local businesses and nonprofits who are pioneering the movement locally for a more low-impact life in Rochester.

Live Music with WAYO.fm

Once you’ve explored the showcase of sustainable entities in Rochester, get your fill of live music with a mini-festival courtesy of WAYO.fm. Bands will feature something for every age and musical taste, and the sounds will keep coming until 5 pm.

Even More Stuff Going On

While you’re out and about celebrating Earth Day, you’ll also want to check out these complementary events.

It’s also Record Store Day. And the weekend of the Rochester International Film Festival.

Saturday is a big day for the South Wedge! Be sure to come out and enjoy all the neighborhood has to offer at this special Earth Day celebration. Whatever you do, don’t stay home this Saturday. There’s too much good stuff going on. An abundance, you might say.
