Area Activity Guide: Bike-In Movie

August 2017

That Drive-In Experience — for Bikes

Each summer, social media seems to rediscover the concept of drive-in theaters. It’s hard to deny that sitting under the stars while you catch a movie is pretty great, but those theaters are typically miles outside the city, and enjoying them requires that you have a car. That leaves out all those city dwellers who prefer two-wheeled human-powered transportation. Well, the City of Rochester Public Market and the Rochester Cycling Alliance have created an event that celebrates both the drive-in experience and cycling culture.

The Public Market Presents

On Friday, August 25th, ride your bike to the Rochester Public Market for their third annual Bike-In Movie. True to bicycle-celebrating form, the film being screened will be none other than E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial. In addition to the bike-friendly film, there will be networking and bonding opportunities for bicycle enthusiasts and advocates, demos, and other local bike-related opportunities. The networking/socializing begins at 7 p.m., and the movie starts around 8 p.m.
