It’s time to don your best red, white, and blue duds and get your grilling face on. Rochester knows how to celebrate a summer holiday, and you’re invited to the party. If you don’t already have plans, check out one or all of these events commemorating the adoption of the Declaration of Independence.

Rochester Red Wings

So you’ll be home for the 4th? So will the Rochester Red Wings! Head over to Frontier Field for an Independence Day celebration of America’s favorite pastime. The game vs. the Pawtucket Red Sox starts at 7:05 p.m. and will be followed by the biggest post-game fireworks display of the season. Fans can also take part in a patriotic-themed jersey auction. City of Rochester

Each year, Rochester celebrates the July 4th Independence Day holiday in style with a spectacular display of fireworks. Festivities begin on the Main Street Bridge, from South Ave to Exchange. Thanks to performances at 7:30 and 9 pm, it’s crucial that you arrive early to secure your spot at this prime fireworks-viewing location. The fireworks will light up the skies at 10 p.m. Free parking is available at a variety of nearby garages.

The RPO

Just before the city’s celebration gets explosive, the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra will take the stage at Main Street Bridge. It’s the perfect time to instill an appreciation for classical music in loved ones of any age. Director Ward Stare will lead a program of patriotic favorites that everyone knows by heart. Rochester’s traditional Independence Day Concert begins at 9 pm.

Penthouse at One East Avenue

If you’re the type to celebrate in style, head to the Penthouse at One East Avenue for a night to remember. Enjoy ice cream for sale and a cash bar as you take in the fireworks from the wraparound terrace! Admission is just $5 (Cash Only) for what’s undoubtedly the best view in the city.
