South and Hickory Facade

Area Activity Guide: Bands on the Bricks

Bands on the Bricks

July 2016

The Rochester Public Market is just a 10-minute drive or a 15-minute bike from South and Hickory Place. So if you’ve been living in the Wedge all summer and haven’t made the market a central part of your life, you’re missing out. Granted, the South Wedge has its own farmers market, and there’s plenty of great entertainment. But no Rochesterian should miss out on ALL of the great programming offered at the Public Market, especially during the summer.

Rochester’s Most Popular Free Concert Series

Actually, Rochester has an awful lot of free concert series, so one or two of them might draw a bigger crowd once in a while. But Bands on the Bricks is definitely among the best. Every Friday night July 8th through August 5th, a different band (or two) will take the stage at 6 pm. These acts are eclectic, bringing every style of music to the masses, including rock, psychedelic pop, gospel, zydeco, reggae, hip-hop, latin, and rhythm & blues. Plus — food trucks.
