Area Activity Guide:Craft Beer and Cider Events at Tap and Mallet
March 2015
It’s no secret that Tap and Mallet on Gregory Street (literally around the corner from South and Hickory Place) is one of the area’s premiere beer bars. If you’re a craft beer aficionado, you’ve probably been there once or twice (maybe just this week). Well, one of the reasons the place is so beloved is that even beyond their penchant for rare, interesting beers, they also do a number of special events, both weekly and monthly. So, as we (hopefully) emerge from the depths of winter this month, we thought it might be a good time to highlight some of the fantastic events they have planned for the month of March!
First of all, this Friday (March 6th), local hopheads will want to be sure to head over to the Tap and Mallet for the Hopslam Cask Happy Hour! This legendary double IPA will be on cask at the T&M for…well, for however long it lasts! Get there early if you want some – HopSlam is never around for very long. Next week on the 11th, there will be one of the now-traditional dinner events. This time, there will be 5 chefs, 5 dishes, and 5 beers at what they’re appropriately calling the 5 5 5 Dinner. Later this month, watch out for launch events for new beers from Upstate Brewing and a collaborative effort from Abandon and Ithaca breweries. If beer isn’t your thing, check out the New York State Cider Tasting event near the end of the month, which will be the biggest one of its kind in the area. And finally, at the very end of the month, the Tap and Mallet will be hosting a total tap takeover by the famous Stone Brewing Co – and each tap will be a “rare beer” of some kind. Don’t miss that!
All these events and more are presented in much more detail at the Tap and Mallet’s Event page and their Facebook version, too. Drink craft, drink local!
