Area Activity Guide: Fringe Festival 2015
September 2015
Rochester’s 4th Annual Fringe Festival
Tis the season for having some fun on the fringe! Now in its 4th year, Rochester’s take on the now-globally anticipated Fringe Festival has grown to receive nationwide recognition. The 10-day performing arts festival features local, national, and international artists, musicians, and other performers in the East End of Rochester. The heart of the action — a pop-up urban garden known as the Spiegelgarden — is just a 5-minute drive or 20-minute walk from South and Hickory Place.
Something for Everyone
Fringe festivities kick off September 17th and run through the 26th. To plan your itinerary, pick up an Official Fringe Guide or City Newspaper’s guide. You can also browse all the Fringe Festival events on the official calendar. Tickets can be purchased online or at the door, but some shows have VERY limited attendance, so be sure to plan ahead. There are performances at every price point — including FREE — with most headlining shows running about $35. Free music can be enjoyed on Gibbs Street all night throughout both weekends of the festival.
