Area Activity Guide:Genesee Center for the Arts
February 2015
Yes, yes…we know that April is a long way off. But with classes like the ones being offered at Genesee Center for the Arts, it’s never too early to start thinking about registering. In case you’re not familiar with it, the Genesee Center for the Arts is located at 713 Monroe Ave, a mere five minute drive from South and Hickory Place. As the name suggests, it’s a center in which people of all ages can come together to take art classes and learn how to express themselves through a wide range of artistic mediums. They have classes year-round, but we thought April would be a good starting point, giving you plenty of time to sign up.
Coming this April are classes in (among many, many others) handbuilding, wheel throwing, mosaics, photography and even a kind of introductory class for kids, in which they’ll get experience with ceramics, papermaking, printing, book-binding, and letterpress. Oh, and did we mention the classes that teach you how to build a coffee machine and a hand juicer? Believe us – that’s just the beginning. Check out all of the upcoming classes here. And for more information about the wonderful Genesee Center for the Arts itself, be sure to check out their entire website. Remember – without “art,” Earth is just “Eh.”
