It may be the dawn of the dead or all souls’ day, but Rochester nightlife is alive and kickin’! Halloween 2016 (hey, that rhymes!) promises to be a weekend to remember. Whatever you’re into, there’s something for you (especially if it’s music or beer). Here are some highlights. Let us know what we missed!
Advanced Tarot at the Rochester Brainery
Tuesday, October 25 from 7 pm to 9 pm

Requirements: BYO Rider-Waite tarot deck
Advanced Tarot is a learning opportunity for those seeking a more serious experience of the supernatural. Do you own a Rider-Waite tarot deck? If not, you’d better get practicing, because this class is intended for experienced students who are actively using one. There will be a Q&A about tarot card spreads, and skills for working with readings for friends and clients will be the primary emphasis.
Rohrbach Beer HallOween: A Night of Beer & Fear
Thursday, October 27 from 6 pm to 9 pm
Location: Rohrbach Railroad Street Beer Hall
Admission: Free
Ages: 21+
This beer-centric bash doesn’t sound terribly terrifying — more like a scary good time! The main event is the release of Rohrbach’s long-awaited Small-Batch Pumpkin Ale. You can expect specials on wood-fired pizza and some themed games to keep you busy. As with every good Halloween party, prizes will be awarded for the best costumes.
Night of the Living Wedge Pub Crawl

Night of the Living Wedge is back, and the lineup of destinations keeps getting better! Welcome to Wedge dwellers’ favorite holiday tradition. Create an outrageous, prize-worthy costume for a chance to win. There will be cash prizes, as well as fun giveaways. In case you need to catch up, here are the pubs on the itinerary.

Enjoy a night of art, music, and dancing in the environs of the MAG. Creative types can enjoy interactive art projects, Edgar Allen Poe readings, and a costume contest. There will be food, wine, and beer for sale, along with giveaways from The Little Theatre, Nox, Urban Decay Cosmetics, and more.
90’s Halloween House Party!
Friday, October 28 from 7 pm to 2 am
Location: The Playhouse/Swillburger
Ages: 21+
Kick off Halloween weekend surrounded by vintage video games, vampire fries, and monster tots at The Playhouse / Swillburger 90’s Halloween House Party. You can expect a tap takeover by Jack’s Abby Craft Lagers, plus additional tasty beers and cocktails — including a chocolate, cinnamon, nutmeg, chile pepper, and coffee-infused milk stout and a 30% fruit puree mixed-culture Sour Ale refermented with apricots and dry-hopped with Azacca! And as a bonus, the costume contest promises RAD prizes.
Teagan & the Tweeds Halloween Bash at Dinosaur BBQ

This local band is ready to rock Dino with a special lineup of Halloween-themed songs. Bring your appetite and come dressed for a costume contest. It just might be the best tasting and sounding party in town.
