One of the many cultural joys of Rochester is our beloved Memorial Art Gallery.  Located on University Ave, a mere 5 minutes up Alexander Street from South and Hickory Place, the MAG consistently has interesting, challenging, and unique exhibitions worth checking out.

In Search of Shadows, which open just over a week ago, is just this type of exhibition.  It examines and explores the intriguing role of the shadow in the long history of art.  The collection of different artistic mediums strives to show us all that the shadow is so much more than simply the absence of light – it is symbolic and powerful, as well.  In Search of Shadows runs through mid August.  For more information and tickets, please head over to the MAG’s webpage about the exhibition.  In Search of Shadows promises to be an enlightening peek into the world of darkness.
