Access Downtown Rochester

As a South Wedge resident, you’re pretty close to the action taking place in the Downtown Innovation Zone. Want a sneak peek at what High Tech Rochester and 100 companies are up to in the Inner Loop? The Rochester Venture Adventure is your chance to not only learn about all the new developments but to actually see the sites that are undergoing transformations. It’s also a competition with prizes and an after-party at a top-secret location.

Here’s How It Works

First of all, you’ll need to sign up right away. Enlist up to 3 trivia (or just local news) savvy friends and purchase your $15 tickets here. Participants will meet Saturday, September 10th at St. Joseph’s Park, where check-in starts at 3:00pm and the race begins at 3:30. You and your comrades will don matching tee-shirts, which acts as your pass to event-related activities and the after party. Your team will work together to decipher clues, find hidden checkpoints, and complete simple activities on a 3-mile course. The key is that your team must stay together. And unless you’ve got a photographic memory of downtown Rochester, you might want to bring a backup charge for your smartphone.

Everybody Wins!

More than $1,000 worth of prizes from amazing local vendors will be awarded to the quickest and most creative teams that complete the scavenger hunt. For everyone else, there will be beer, food, music, and access to a not-usually-accessible area in development (at least that was the case last year). The afterparty goes from 5:30 to 7:30pm at the last location, but you must participate in the scavenger hunt to find out where the party is (and to get in).
