Anytime Activity: Wall/Therapy
September 2015
How many people can claim free therapy as a perk of living in their apartment complex? Rest assured, Wall/Therapy does not claim to diagnose or treat any condition whatsoever, but the project does use “mural art as a vehicle to address our collective need for inspiration.” Being at the center of Rochester’s local art scene is a big perk of living in the South Wedge, thanks in part to the Wall/Therapy initiative. Its greatest concentration of murals is right in our neighborhood! In fact, there are 5 murals within 2 blocks of South & Hickory Place.
A Limited-Time Engagement
Our neighborhood’s latest mural from Wall/Therapy is a few blocks further east, but it’s worth the walk to South Clinton Avenue at Meigs Street. “Bollywood Sugar” by Dutch artist Handiedan is made from wheat paste, and it’s not meant to last forever. Get your daily dose of inspiration by making a short trip down South Avenue, then turning left on Caroline, Meigs, and Gregory streets. You’ll catch all 6 nearby murals.
